I'm never disappointed with a J.S Scott read. So another five star was granted to me again with this book. The Billionaire Unbound. To fully understand what I mean I must first explain! This author writes under the genre, erotic romance. But clearly her books reveals so much more. For the book #8 in her installment Chloe is packed so much emotional scars of pain and miss direction about what it means to be truly loved. But its at the very beginning, my favorite author attack and grab my undivided attention of how she addresses the details Chloe's hurts and able to successfully bring about the intense chemistry between Chloe and Gabe. I was deeply moved also by the way in which the author address the issue of domestic violence and even the scene of recollection and recording into Chloe pass, for that was profoundly sensitive material and the author handle it beautifully as I know no another author could have done such a spectacular job. Every scene carried the right paste in showing a woman's road to recovery, from domestic abuse and every scene was packed with emotions of kindness, loyalty, and love in the Colter family. I'm now looking forward to the next read!!!Note to author...

Chloe and Gabe; what great main characters. They had known each other for so much of their lives growing up. They hadn't really seen much each other in a while. But that kiss on New Year's Eve? That really did change everything....Gabe saw who Chloe was and he really liked everything about her; just as she is. Chloe had been so worn down by her boyfriend/supposed fiance. He was all for number 1- himself and his abusive behavior was both verbal and physical. And he seemed to be escalating. Time will show just how vile he is.
It was kind of fun to have BOTH of the main people rich billionaires even though it was part of the problem when it come to Chloe and her ex.
Gabe treats Chloe like gold; even as he struggles with some hesitation when it comes to being more than just a friend to her. He knows she needs time to heal. She is his best friend's sister which should put her off limits. But that only works for so long because he really does care for her. I can see why there is a 18+ reader suggestion because there will be sex scenes.
Some surprises are in store, there is a H.E.A. This a good stand alone story without any real cliffhanger. Although one question remains unanswered. What happened to Ellie, Chloe's best friend? There is a quick look into the answers to that in the Excerpt at the back of the book called, "Billionaire Undaunted".
On a side note or two, I want to mention that I think that it was helpful for the story to contain warning signs for women when it comes to unhealthy relationships. Also that Chloe finally got help and counseling. That wasn't done in a preaching or condemning way either. Nicely done.
I also really liked the attractive cover for the eBook.
Those who enjoy J.S. Scott's Billionaire's Obsession series have been looking forward to more of the Colter family. To those who aren't familiar, this can be read as a stand alone book, but I would suggest the other books in the series because they are great. There are some appearances of previous couples in this story.
Chloe has four brothers and is the only woman among her siblings. She's always had some self-image issues and hooked up with James shortly after high school. They became engaged while they were getting their degrees - hers in veterinary medicine with an emphasis on equine studies and his as a medical doctor. Now they are both back home in Rocky Springs, Colorado and Chloe is realizing that her first and only love is actually abusive. Mostly mentally abusive, but it is moving into physical abuse as well. Her brother, Blake, and Gabe are best friends. Gabe sees James hurting Chloe when she is breaking off their engagement. As the great alpha male Gabe is, he steps in and saves the day. He also offers her a job at his horse farm because his own vet recently retired. Chloe wants to put some distance between her and her very angry ex so she takes a leave from her partnership in town and moves to Gabe's horse farm to help him out with his breeding farm of specialized horses.
They fight their attraction at first. She isn't ready to trust a man that much. He doesn't want to take advantage of her or hurt his best friend's sister. Over time their strong chemistry won't be denied. There are some serious plot twists I won't give away that make the later half of the book exciting in addition to being sexy.
You'll enjoy this addition to the Billionaire's Obsession series as both the hero and heroine billionaire find a forever love.
I really love the Billionaire's Obsession series!!! J. S. Scott's book is not only intriguing but have so much romance you get to think maybe that's you in the story. This particular book is also so emotional with everything that happens to Chloe that at one point your mad at James and another your crying along with Chloe. Gabe is the most awesome guy! His love for Chloe is unconditional! Really loved this read and can't wait for the next book in this series!!! Great read J. S. Scott!!! Love your books!!!!!
